- AMD Opteron 8425 HE - 55W, 2.1GHz, $1514

The new 2439 SE models is not aimed at dethroning "Nehalem" based Xeons but to compete in price and performance where processing power is preferred over bandwidth, where the Xeon 5500 series clearly leads.
AMD does have an advantage in four to eight way solutions since Intel doesn't yet offer "Nehalem" Xeons for anything other than 2 socket systems - that will only change, drastically, with the arrival of "Beckton".
