nForce 680i may work with "Wolfdale" 45nm CPUs

While it is now almost certain that we won't see any quad-core "Yorkfield" Penryn CPUs working with Nvidia's 680i chipset, it may not be the end of the road for owners of motherboards using it.
Some sources claim that the chipset might support the dual-core Penryn CPUs, codenamed "Wolfdale", series E8000, without problems due to it's different requirements than "Yorkfield" on the power-circuitry of motherboards. This will allow for owners of E6000 or E4000 series CPUs to upgrade to the faster and more overclockable 45nm CPUs, if they don't want to take the 65nm quad-core route, but that's about it.
Still, if 800 or 1066MHz FSB 45nm duallies are introduced anytime soon, they could allow for some very good overclocking with these boards, yielding a nice performance boost over existing E6000 CPUs.
