DualBIOS for everyone, for every price point.
DualBIOS is a technology from Gigabyte where two BIOS chips are present on the motherboard in case one goes bad. The safeguarding process ranges from the second BIOS booting automatically and flashing the other one with the copy, to a user selectable jumper on the motherboard - either way, it's very useful to avoid shipping costs to Taiwan.
Given the current trend of switching to soldered SPI chips instead of PLCC socketed ones, this move deserves some serious Kudos for Gigabyte and further reiterates my personal opinion that they are currently the manufacturer of the most dependable motherboards out there.

Very thoughtful of Gigabyte.
I also agree with you on the fact that Gigabyte is one of the most dependable motherboard manufacturers currently in the industry.
The fact that Gigabyte is pushing for user friendliness and allowing computer builders of all budgets to have access to a safeguard system like the Dual BIOS is extremely awesome. Kudos to Gigabyte.
My one question is, will there be any significant price increases due to this new useful add-on?
Cheers!
I would say that the price shouldn't increase at all or, if it does, it shouldn't really be noticeable.
Gigabyte already distances themselves from the bottom of the chain, where ASRock, ECS and low end models of other brands typically rule.
A quick look shows me that an AM2 740G motherboard costs $15 more for the Gigabyte model than the ECS one. More than enough to absorb the impact of a one or two dollar chip.
Also, Gigabyte might not increase the price not even a bit since this will reduce the number of RMAs they get, hence saving on labor costs. This was a strategy they adopt only for the high-end, overclocking friendly models, where the cost would be justified and where the number of RMAs was considerably higher.
If they considered this move, it's probably because the number of RMAs due to corrupt BIOS chips on low end models is not insignificant already.
Best regards
