HP updates DV2 with dual-core Turion Neo X2
Turion Neo X2, Athlon Neo X2 inside, both in the same 15W thermal envelope and a new 10.1" netbook.
These are still early news with no official statement from either HP or AMD, so the rather confusing use of two dual core processors is up for debate. The current dual core Turion is simply known as "Turion Ultra" for most models, so AMD might opt for the simpler "Turion Neo" nomenclature. The Athlon Neo X2 name actually makes sense and will probably feature lower amounts of L2 cache and some cuts elsewhere.
Disappointing is that the same 690G based chipset as in the single-core DV2, also HT will be limited to 1GHz in this chipset. The current Turion Ultra uses the higher clocked HT3.0.
It will come in June, in the same 12.1" format, with Windows Vista inside.
HP also announced a new 10" Mini 110, based on the 945GSE chipset and Atom N270 and N280 processors, and an Athlon X2 based touchscreen PC, the MS200.
