ASUS continues to take the tedious sound card market to a more competitive new era.
And plans to take over Creative Labs market share, since it acquired exclusive rights to C-Media chips and left Auzentech to partner with the Creative and it's X-Fi chips.
C-Media chips rock, I have an Auzentech X-Mystique and it's a very good sound card. ASUS offerings even add EAX 5.0 on some cards, although support seems not up to par with Creative's. Either way, for music enthusiasts and some light gaming, Xonars are very good cards. The support for 3D audio in PCs is also in a chaotic state since Aureal was acquired by Creative and it's mostly up to the individual to decide if it's worth or not.
The use of a PCI connector instead of PCI-e might not be a good choice for the long run.
