Scythe has released a copper version of it's famous Ninja cooler.
It weighs in 1015g or 2.2lbs, add an extra 100g for the 120mm fan that it uses.
If you don't have your board in an horizontal case you better watch out for broken motherboards. Even with the newly improved mounting mechanism, most could fail because of the cooler's weight causing the board to bend, and forget about assembled transportation.
It supports socket 478, 775, 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+ and the average sale price is $70 or 60eur, without tax.
Although current processors use a nickel anodized IHS, using aluminum - or whatever that is - for the base, especially when you have spent more than one 1Kg with the rest of the cooler, is not what I'd call clever. Going to all that work to end up reducing all that cooling power with a crappy base is not the way to go.
Thermalright already proved that with their XP-90 and XP-90C. The copper version performed better, but it was all made of copper.
This cooler will, probably, end up with a bad performance compared to the Tuniqs and Thermalrights of this world, adding insult to the almost insane weight injury.
