Phenom B3 core won't come soon

According to HKEPC, AMD will only be introducing the new Phenom B3 core in the 2nd quarter of 2008.
Usually when they mean Q2 they mean the last month, in this case May. They are claiming those release dates based on information collected from OEM manufacturers, nothing official yet, but it's likely that they're right. That's inexplicably late and if they continue this way, they'll keep crashing in the stock market and we'll have Intel milking what they can out of two year old CPUs - not a pretty scenario.
At least they're bringing a 2.3GHz Phenom X3 8600 and a 2.1GHz 8400 in March, but they're B2 steppings, so I don't see anyone wanting to pick that up. Q2 brings B3 cores in the form of the 8700, 8650 and 8450.
We also see they plan to introduce the Phenom X4 9100, B2 core, clocked at 1.8GHz. They better be aiming that at the $100 price point. Later it will be replaced by the 9150e, "e" probably standing for "Energy Efficient", and of course a B3 core that could be interesting for budget overclocking, if the price doesn't differ much from what I stated above.
Things look bad and will look bad for times to come, they probably won't come up with something good until AM3 CPUs launch, by which time let's hope they really manage to make them work in AM2/AM2+ boards with DDR2 memory.
