Gainward releases 8800GT with 1GB

Gainward, the advocate of graphics cards with huge amounts of ram, has launched yet another product with the same feature. After dwelling with 1024MB versions of 8500GT and 8600GT, they have now released a board with a chip more fit to these amounts of onboard memory. Unlike those versions though, which have slower memory than the regular cards, this 8800GT features memory that is faster than the standard, clocked at a comfortable 1900MHz speed. Considering that the chips are 1ns or 2000MHz, this is good candy for overclockers. The extra amount of memory was achieved by putting eight more chips on the backside of the card.
The card also has a better cooler, previously bundled also with the GLH version.
The model is known as the Golden Sample and pricing is not available yet.

Edit: The card is now available on some European stores for about €300.
