EVGA releases Classified SR-2 motherboard

EVGA releases it's workstation class motherboard compatible with LGA 1366 Xeons, providing support for up to 24 threads when used in conjunction with the new 6 core Xeon 5600 processors.

The new motherboard is based on the enterprise Intel 5520 chipset, more common in servers and high performance computing than the gaming market. While EVGA hasn't revealed pricing yet, expect it to be close to $500, possibly over.
The motherboard features all the high-end components that EVGA has already been known for providing, including support for seven PCI Express x8/x16 slots, courtesy of the integrated NF200 bridge chips.

Specifications below, after the visual spoiler:

Performance:
 Based on Intel 5520/ICH10R chipset
Supports Dual QPI Socket 1366 Intel Xeon 5600 and 5500 Processors
Memory:
 12 x 240-pin DIMM sockets
 Triple Channel DDR3
 Maximum of 48GB of DDR3 1333MHz+
Expansion Slot:
 7 x PCIe x16/x8
 0 x 32-bit PCI, support for PCI 0
Storage I/O:
 1 x UltraDMA133
 8 x Serial ATA 2x600MB/sec / 6x300MB/sec with support for RAID 0, RAID1, RAID 0+1, RAID5, JBOD
Integrated Peripherals:
 8 Channel High Definition
 2 x 10/100/1000

 Audio connector (Line-in, Line-out, MIC)
Form Factor:
 HPTX Form Factor
 Length: 13.6in - 345.4mm
 Width: 15in - 381mm

The new motherboard uses a particularly large form factor, known as HPTX, for which a workstation computer case should be required. EVGA has partnered with Mountain Mods to build a compatible U2-UFO motherboard tray:

The tray costs $79 and must be purchased together with a new case.

EVGA will also be releasing a 1200W power supply, also called SR-2, to pair with this rather uncommon, high performance gaming/workstation motherboard.

I'm using this board with an overclocked core i7 980x running at 4.5 GHz using 4-way crossfire enabled HD Radeon 5970 cards and 24 GB of RAM to play solitaire and minesweeper, and I have not had one freeze yet! Amazing.
