An Ion netbook worth notice.
There are already some netbook models on the market built on this platform that features an Atom processor and an Nvidia GeForce 9400M chipset, but no one has come out with a 64bit enable Atom processor.
This new model from Point of View features an Atom 230 at it's core, which is 64bit capable but has a higher TDP of 4W vs the 2.4W TDP of the N270 and N280 models. This a good tradeoff, as it will yield you higher performance and ensure you a device that's actually not obsolete.
The laptop also has the standard 10.2" screen, 160GB HDD and 1GB of DDR2 memory. Worth notice is the HDMI output, the Gigabit Ethernet LAN port and a weight of less than 1.4Kg.
The OS bundled with the netbook is Linux and not Windows, which should mean a cheaper entry price - one that has not been quoted yet.
The Ion 230 will also be available in red and black colors.
