NEC's CRV43, a 43'' curved monitor

43" in a panoramic view, that's what NEC is planning to offer for the premium consumer market.

Specifications are impressive:
  • Viewable Image Size 43” diagonal
  • Native Resolution 2880 x 900 (Double WXGA+)
  • Curved Seamless Image Yes
  • Response Time (typical) <0.02ms
  • Dynamic Range 12-bit (4096 levels)
  • Color Gamut (typical)
  • sRGB 100% coverage/160% size
  • Adobe RGB 99.3% coverage/119% size
  • Number of Colors 68.7 billion
  • Contrast Ratio (typical) >10,000:1
  • Brightness (peak) 200 cd/m2
  • Field of View H90° @ 24” x V30° @ 24”
  • Screen Dimensions (flat) 40.8”W x 12.8”H

  • Input Single link DVI-D & HDMI
  • Input Power (nominal) 110VAC@60 Hz/220VAC@50 Hz
  • Power Consumption ~200W ( 2 amps max.)

With a response time of 0.02ms, this monitor would provide an incredibly gaming experience if games supported the odd aspect ratio.
The extraordinary color depth of 12bit per color will provide spectacular colors and, coupled with the response time and power consumption, this isn't an LCD but rather something based on DLP technology.
The price is rather steep: $7999
