Intel shows real time ray tracing in Nehalem

Intel's Daniel Pohl, who got the job by modding every id game he could get it's hands on into a ray-traced version, has done it again, now with Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

The demo was run on a dual Xeon W5580 @ 3.2GHz workstation, which is a "Nehalem" based CPU. Daniel quotes 16 frames per second, at a resolution of 720p, which is not bad at all.
This surely is good news for what's to come with Larabee.
Do check the HD version of the video, as the standard doesn't do it much justice.
