New tidbits about the single board GTX 295

I had already talked earlier about the single board GTX 295 that Nvidia has in the works, although information about a planned release date is unknown.

More information has surfaced that these cards will indeed show up soon but - note solely - due to delays that might affect the upcoming GT300 chip. Nvidia has lots of cards ordered from retailers, to whom it has not delivered a card in weeks.

Nvidia should be loosing money on the cards it is selling and the single board card should help mitigate this. Such ruluctancy to deliver cards to partners is a strong indicator of troubles at the green camp.

With HD 4850X2 2GB cards selling for 200eur, one has to wonder if orders won't be turned down by the customers in favor of AMD cards. They outperform GTX 285 cards in some cases, for a lot less and the rumored high-end HD 4890X2, which should become available from select partners, can become a close competitor to the GTX 295.
