Intel fined by the EU

Intel has been fined $1.44 billion dollars by the EU, finally. Many people didn't believe this was possible, me included. AMD certainly made a stand now.
The computer manufacturers concerned by Intel's conduct in the Commission’s decision are: Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo and NEC. The retailer concerned is Media Saturn Holding, owner of the MediaMarkt chain.

This is a little excerpt, these are the companies involved in the huge discounts, payouts, etc. MediaMarkt is an especially aggravating case, since it has been of mostly public knowledge that they don't sell AMD because Intel paid them not to. Most people working there, even at the bottom knew of this.
There's also a mention of Intel paying OEMs to delay launches of new AMD chips, while huge discounts for exclusivity have been mentioned for a while. We're talking mostly all the big OEMs here, so you can imagine how these practices have shaped what AMD could do, especially in the early K8 years.

Hopefully, this new development will transform the CPU market in similar way to that which has recently blessed the GPU market.
