Keywords: Sapphire Pure CrossFireX PC-AM2RD790 reviewA while ago, when DFI didn't even had their own 790FX on the market, some pictures of the motherboard were leaked on the web; now, finally, the new motherboard from Sapphire is available. It remains very similar to what was previewed back then, sharing the same design with the DFI LanParty 790FX-M2R, a slight difference is the AMD RD790 sticker hiding the LanParty logo from DFI.
CrossFireX support - in the triple card variant - is available, and what makes this board different from the DFI 790FX is the VOIP card that is bundled with it.
Bit-Tech has reviewed the motherboard, and here's, probably, the most important excerpt from the review:
Comparatively the MSI K9A Platinum 790FX retails for around £60 less at £107.33, while the Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 we reviewed was £10 less at £160.14 and the 790FX DS5 from Gigabyte is only £113.39. Similarly, the Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe WiFi AP is has a fair few features itself, but is only £128.38.The part - in the conclusion - about memory incompatibilities is also something to be worried about.
At this price range the DFI is a better option than the clone, due to the, possibly, better BIOS support. The GA-MA790FX-DQ6 from Gigabyte may also be a better option for performance oriented systems.
