Cooling

Today's contenders in the cooling arena

Asus launched a new cooler, the Triton 75, one considerably better than the company's previous efforts. It's a shame that it doesn't feature another type of mounting mechanism - it uses the stock 775 mounting mechanism, which is known to bend motherboards, eventually leading to malfunctioning in some.

We also have a review by Mikhailtech on the new thermal paste from OCZ, the OCZ Freeze. Though there are already better performing products available, like the IC7 Diamond paste and the Coollaboratory Liquid Pro, this one is non-conductive and performs better than the standard, the Arctic Silver 5. The test was done on an old "Barton" Athlon XP, ensuring that no a more accurate comparison of the two pastes, since no other thermal interface exists between the chip and the cooler.
