And they better do so. Even the revised Phenoms won't be phenomenal performers, so this is the only way to make them attractive to buyers.
They already took the same approach with the new HD 3800 series Radeons and it seems to be working. Price them lower than the competition and people won't mind the significantly lower performance.
Hopefully the new B3 revision CPUs won't have any more bugs and overclock better than the current ones, if that comes to be true, these might be good alternatives to the Core 2 Quad. Keep an eye out for the Phenom Black Edition.
