Apple has announced some upgrades, nothing spectacular but there are some notable nomenclature changes:
- The unibody MacBook will be called MacBook Pro 13" and the white, old, MacBook will be the only one from the line. They also have back lit keyboards.
- A 15" unibody MacBook Pro has been introduced also.
- These models have gained and SD card slot but the 15" model has lost the ExpressCard slot.
- The 17" Macbook Pro retains the ExpressCard slot.
- The MacBook Air now costs only $1499 for the base configuration: 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce 9400M graphics, 120GB HDD
The iPhone 3G 8GB is now only $99 with a contract but there's also a new iPhone 3GS model, in 16 and 32GB variants. The "S" stands for speed, but it's still a mystery by whom it is provided - did PA-Semi assets finally paid of?
The new hardware is also 20-30% less power hungry, ensuring similar battery life gains.
