The rumor mill is buzzing about a Phenom II X4 clocked at 3.4GHz and member of the famous Black Edition family. Since AMD has becoming increasingly aggressive lately, this is very likely to be true.
AMD has released a decent six-core design earlier than Intel - no Dunnington doesn't count - for the server market and is making some inroads in regards to market share on the desktop side.
The new CPU is not enough to even reach near the performance crown in the desktop but may prove a difficult opponent for the top Core 2 Quad to handle.
No word yet on pricing.
