Intel releases Core i7 975XE and i7 950

Intel refreshes it's high-end desktop offerings, starting at $562.

Both the Core i7 940 and 965 Extreme Edition are going to be EOLed, in favor of these slightly faster models.

The 950 runs at 3.06GHz, is based on the new D0 stepping and priced at $562. The 975 XE model now runs at 3.33GHz, up from 3.2GHz in the 965, and is priced at the same extreme price of $999.

Availability in the retail is expected already this month.
