Yesterday some information surfaced about the new GPU from S3 graphics and today a picture has been posted on the web(courtesy of Chiphell).
The card sports a very simple design, with a small cooler and no extra PCI-Express power connector. This is inline with the previous Chrome S27 design, which only consumed around 25w under load, allowing for simple cooling, PCB design and a cheap price.
Knowing what S3 has done previously, they are probably aiming at the HD3400 series and the GeForce 9500GT, although the latter will be tougher to beat. The Multichrome should help bring faster performance to the table, although it seems they won't use any extra connectors on the card to allow them to "talk" to each other. This shouldn't be a big issue since most of the cards aren't using all the bandwidth provided by the PCI-Express 2.0 standard, although it will result in some additional latency.
