PowerColor releases HD 3850 AGP card

Keywords: ATI Radeon HD 3850 HD3850 AGP 512MB
Although computers have started a more serious transition to the PCI-Express standard two years ago, when most AGP motherboards started to disappear from the market, there is still some need to provide AGP cards to upgrade those old AMD64 X2 or Pentium D AGP systems.
To cater to those needs, PowerColor released a new HD 3850 512MB card that even features a sensible amount of RAM, 512MB, needed to push today's games to the highest detail level possible.
Although a ZEROTherm cooler is provided for additional cooling capabilities, the card is a regular HD3850 card that only differs, from the stock one, in the amount of RAM.

The AGP bridge that is added to the card usually incurs an additional performance penalty, usually quite small but still worth mentioning. The price is usually inflated by at least $10, due to the added cost of the bridge chip and redesigned PCB.
Nonetheless, these cards are worthy upgrades to old computers, and the non-stock cooler provided and 512MB of RAM help to further increase the value of this offer.
