More 9800GT, 9800GTX, 9800GX2 details, price

As I had speculated a while ago, the new 9800GT and 9800GTX cards from Nvidia are shaping up to be nothing more than slight upgrades to the 8800GT and 8800GTS, with the added triple SLI capability, in the form of two SLI connectors.
The clocks of the 9800GTX are pointed to be slightly higher than the 8800GTS 512MB at 675MHz for the core, 1688 for the shaders and 2200MHz for the RAM - they are still subject to official confirmation from Nvidia though. The number of shader processors will remain at 128 and the core will also be the same, the G92 we've grown used to. Some rumors floating around claimed 750MHz for the core speed, but that always seemed like an unlikely event.

Details about triple SLI support on the 9800GT are still scarce but the card will be similar to the 8800GT, possibly with higher clocks and the SP number is still unknown but should be the same - 112 SPs.

The 9800GX2 has the strongest specifications pointed at 600MHz for the core, 1500MHz for the shaders and 2GHz for the RAM, somewhere between the 8800GT and the 8800GTS 512MB, per PCB. Other sources claim higher clocks, although that's not very likely.

Not a very exciting Spring lineup, is it? The exciting stuff will be up to the next gen GT200.

Prices are estimated at $399 for the 9800GTX and $599 for the 9800GX2, while the 9800GT's price still has not been disclosed.
The cards are expected to show up next week at CeBit and the 9800GX2 has a release date pointed at March 11th.
