
This is something unusual, cards with such complex PCBs don't have much ease at clocking higher than their single-GPU counterparts due to heat and added complexity in power delivery.
If true, ATI managed to do that just fine, while sending a statement to Nvidia about the maturity of the 55nm process.
Nvidia's sandwich shouldn't be able to follow in similar fashion, but the launch is still farther away that ATI's, so anything could happen in the meantime.
Edit: The memory speed didn't follow the same trend and is clocked at a more conservative 2GHz.
