Another picture of an HD 3870X2 has appeared on the world wide web, this time without the cooler. We can see that it is a very complex PCB with two chips that seem to be voltage regulators and a big one in the middle of the two RV670s that should be the PCIe bridge.
A complex card like this won't probably come cheap, so twice the price of a HD3870 should be out of the question, it will probably be priced around $500 or euros; but if Nvidia really launches it's dual G92 card against it, they will have to price as competitively as possible. We haven't seen Nvidia's card anywhere yet, so if Nvidia's answer to the R680 will come or not is still in question.
